Details From the Brewer

ABV: 6.5%

We brewed this West Coast IPA as part of a worldwide collaboration to raise money for the service industry workers impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Brooklyn’s @otherhalfnyc started this project, created an IPA recipe, and did the artwork — participating breweries then brewed their own version of the IPA. Our version of All Together is a crisp, bitter, and bright West Coast-style IPA.

Aroma – 10/12

Pineapple, mango, peach and orange form a medley of fruit jumping out of the nose at a medium-high level.  There’s a light sweetness and doughy malt character as well.  No noticeable alcohol.

Appearance – 3/3

Pours a light straw colored liquid with a heavy haze, looking almost like pineapple juice.  Small white bubbles make up a moderate head that lasts with above average retention.  Good lacing.

Flavor – 17/20

Peach and apricot at a medium high level, quickly joined by mango, strawberry, grapefruit and pineapple.  There’s a light bread dough malt flavor.  A low-medium bitterness comes out in the mid palate.  A bit of pine and white grape comes through towards the end.  The finish is quick leaving behind a moderate bitterness.

Mouthfeel – 3/5

Soft throughout with a pillowy quality.  The medium body fits the style well.  Carbonation seems a little under medium, and a touch low for the style.  A touch of hop derived astringency on the finish.

Overall Impression – 8/10

A great IPA.  The hop profile provides a fruit medley that really pops.  The bitterness and malt bill work well in balance.  It’s dryness really lends the drinker another sip.  The lingering bitterness on the finish, could be toned down some.

Rating – 41/50

The recent IPA cans coming out of Batch have been top notch, and this is no exception. So far, the All Together series have been pretty similar, but have had noticeable uniqueness.  You really can’t go wrong with any of them.
