Review

Aroma – 10/12

Orange and grapefruit citrus jump off the nose at a medium-high level.  This is joined by pineapple and pine notes.  A fresh bread dough malt character peaks out.  Some dank, resinous aroma as well.

Appearance – 3/3

Pours a vibrant yellow  liquid with a thick hazy opacity.  An array of bubble sizes create a giant head that lasts with fantastic retention.  Good lacing

Flavor – 19/20

Tangerine, and grapefruit hop flavors at a high level.  Accompanied by pineapple, floral and some piney resin as a cohesive flavor.  There’s a slight sweetness and low-medium clean bitterness in the mid-palate.  Low doughy malt presence.  Citrus flavors linger on the quick finish.

Mouthfeel – 5/5

A pillow soft, medium body.  Moderate-high carbonation on the rear of the mouth.  No astringency with a low alcohol warmth in the throat.

Overall Impression – 10/10

A fantastic IPA.  Hop expression is bright and vibrant.  Bitterness is a bit subdued as you would expect in the NEIPA style, but a touch more wouldn’t be unwelcome.

Rating – 47/50

While the hop selection here might be considered old school by some, the flavors blend harmoniously.  This is one of my favorite local IPAs, and it maintains that quality on recent batches.
